World Mental Health Day (10 October) is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries. This day, each October, thousands of supporters come to celebrate this annual awareness program to bring attention to Mental Illness and its major effects on peoples’ life worldwide. In some countries this day is part of an awareness week, such as Mental Illness Awareness Week in the US and Mental Health Week in Australia
These are just a few websites that share the MENTAL HEALTH DAY! The 1st website is the founder of this day.
Id like to celebrate this day by just simply saying thank you to all the awareness movements & stigma breaking movements. Id like to personally say thank you has a individual who has suffered with Mental Health struggles my entire life, id like to thank every single human being involved in one or all Movements to help break stigma’s and to help bring awareness to the forefront of the world society. Raising awareness is 1 small step to help eradicating mental illness. By breaking stigma’s and thought processes that are just wrong & discriminates against people. Bringing Awareness to the forefront of peoples minds is 1 small step but it has such a great weight to it, which also achieves so much in the bigger picture.
Mental health awareness is my true passion in this life, raising awareness is one of the greatest things any human can do. To help someone in need is a true meaningful act that any human can do for another.
If all this awareness worldwide, makes 1 person offer a hand in help to someone suffering with mental health issues, even if 1 person does this act then the entire awareness work has been achieved. Even if its 0.01% of the worlds population is helped then that is what it is all about. Now we all who are passionate about mental health & awareness would love this percentage to be 100%. Small step by step we can get there. 1 step at a time. Raising awareness is key to helping others.
Id like to personally say thank you to everyone who has helped throughout the time, that awareness has been tackling stigma’s.
I’m more than happy to try my level best to help others too, with my own personal experiences which is what awareness is all about. Uncovering the truth about mental illness, rather than the text book version of mental illness. We are all different even when we have the same label. we are all different. which what makes awareness fantastic, because its real life coming together, rather than pages in a book coming together.
Keep up the work everyone. Thank you all who has worked towards these kinds of celebrating days!
ENJOY MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY EVERYBODY!
